Plain-language summary

Your information should remain yours.

Kinbook is publicly available, while each personal archive remains private to its signed-in account. This page explains how its current web edition handles your information.

Anyone can visit Kinbook. Sign-in is required to access or create a personal archive.

Profiles, stories, clippings, and photographs are stored in private cloud storage associated with the signed-in account.

PDF, Word, print, and backup exports are created when you request them. Downloaded copies may contain private family information.

Nothing is automatically published to FamilySearch, and family sharing is not enabled.

Information you choose to enter

Kinbook may let you enter notes, preferences, progress, or other app-specific information. The app is designed to use that information only to provide its features. Please avoid entering sensitive or identifying information unless the feature specifically requires it.

Third-party services and links

Kinbook uses ChatGPT sign-in and hosted cloud storage. Optional links to FamilySearch and other sources open external websites with their own privacy practices. FamilySearch synchronization is not active.

Your choices

You can export your archive and delete entries in Kinbook. Removing a bookmark or uninstalling a browser shortcut does not delete your cloud archive. Keep downloaded family-history files somewhere private.
